Maybe I made a mistake yesterday, but yesterday’s me is still me. I am who I am today, with all my faults. Tomorrow I might be a tiny bit wiser, and that’s me, too. These faults and mistakes are what I am, making up the brightest stars in the constellation of my life. I have come to love myself for who I was, who I am, and who I hope to become……….No matter who you are, where you’re from, your skin color, gender identity: speak yourself……….I have many faults and I have many fears, but I am going to embrace myself as hard as I can, and I’m starting to love myself, little by little……..What is your name? Speak Yourself!”, Said RM with trembling hands and a feeling of satisfaction on his face. Even if you don’t know his name, you definitely have heard his iconic speech in the 73rd UN General Assembly 2018. Following the events of LOVE, YOURSELF campaign in partnership with UNICEF #ENDvoilence to raise funds and make the audience aware of this UNICEF global campaign’s causes and agenda.
RM aka Kim Nam-Joon is the leader of world-famous boyband group BTS. since 2013, he and his group mates (Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, Jungkook) have spoken about the hardships and emotions, which they and every one of us have been gone or is going through it. They have always improving their music and brought refreshing styles on each comeback for their fans, called ARMY and all the people who seemed for condolence.
For their hard work, sincere messages, and their support and donation to various causes fans have always showered immense support and love and were also encouraged to do the same. Due to their immense world nominations and several great deeds, they were awarded several national prestigious awards along with international music-based awards.
Recently, BTS was appointed by Korea’s Persistent Moon Jae-in as Special Envoy for Future Generations and Culture and has been awarded Diplomatic Passports which is difficult to achieve even for any highly influential public figure. Following this, they attended 76th General Assembly after three years on the 20th of September at UN headquarter in New York.
The president and BTS gave speeches regarding the Sustainable Development Goals Moment. While the president mainly address the necessity of taking action on climate and sharing various strategies and goals in the favour of the threatened nature, BTS addressed the COVID-19 crisis and the amount of troll it has taken on them and people across the Globe and yet how even in this 2 years of darkest hours people trying to cope with their love ones and trying out new things. They urged people to rather than thinking that the world has, they should think as the beginning of a new world. they also took as an opportunity to announce that they have taken the vaccine and urges fans to also take the vaccine. In their speech, they said,” ……there will be choices we make that may not be perfect but that does not mean there will be nothing we can do……we thought that the world has stopped but it continues to move forward……I hope we don’t just consider the future as grim darkness. We still have many pages in our story, and we shouldn’t talk as if the ending is already written…….”. Along with their speech, they also performed their recently released English Single song Permission to Dance as their welcome to the new nascent world.
