10 Netflix Original Film & TV Shows We Can't Wait To Watch

For anyone who’s looking for something extra to stream on Netflix, we’ve compiled a list of some of the most interesting movies and series.

1. The Discovery

Starring Robert Redford and Rooney Mara, this sci-fi drama sees two men on different ends of an important discovery – one that could change the face of humanity forever. One is an atheist with a vested interest in disproving miracles, while the other has recently found faith again after losing his wife. Both journeys lead them to make decisions they’ll come to regret, as their paths cross over questions regarding God and religion.

2. Sense8

Created by the Wachowski siblings (of The Matrix fame), this sci-fi series charts the life of eight individuals around the world who are connected in some way. Their telepathic and multi-sensory connection allows them to tap into each other’s abilities, knowledge, and skills – whether they’re law enforcement officers, business tycoons, or hackers.

3. Marvel’s Iron Fist

Netflix has been heavily investing in Marvel properties over recent years, and it looks like they’ve pulled out all the stops for this one. Iron Fist will follow billionaire Danny Rand as he returns home 15 years after being presumed dead. It’ll also have an impressive line-up behind the camera – RZA, Dexter alum Scott Buck and Heroes writer Warren Ellis all have producer credits here – while Finn Jones stars as Rand, a martial arts expert who discovers his powers in the Himalayas.

4. The Keepers

This is another example of Netflix’s recent push into more obscure material, as it explores the mysterious death of a nun and the horrific secrets that lie behind it. It all revolves around an unsolved murder from about 50 years ago, which no one really wants to talk about.

5. Bill Nye Saves the World

If you were a fan of Bill Nye’s recent comeback show for adults, then this latest project is something you’ll likely be interested in. It sees the science expert looking at topics near and dear to his heart – including climate change, which will tie in with his campaign to become the US’s ambassador for sanity.

6. The OA

It’s the latest series from acclaimed director and co-writer Brit Marling, best known for Another Earth and The Sound of My Voice. This one will see a young woman return home after disappearing seven years ago. It’ll also star Scott Wilson (The Walking Dead), Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter), and Emory Cohen (Brooklyn).

7. Master Of None

Aziz Ansari’s Netflix comedy first season was sorely overlooked by awards bodies last year, so here’s hoping some Emmy recognition will be heading its way when it returns for a second outing with what we’re promised is more of the same.

8. Chelsea Does

A four-part docu-series exploring different aspects of society, courtesy of comedian Chelsea Handler, this one’s sure to be interesting. We’re most excited for the part that tackles racism in America; with a title like ‘Chelsea Does Racism’, we were expecting something pretty controversial!

9. Stranger Things

We were impressed with the first season of this sci-fi series, so it’s good to see that a new one is already in the works. It won’t be until next year, but we’re sure there’ll be plenty more adventures for Will and his friends as they continue their search for answers about the Upside Down.

10. Star Tre Discovery
