Dark Souls 3 is now available on Xbox Series X/S consoles with the updated FPS Boost features. The action role-playing game can now run at a more modern 60 fps. The 30 fps of Xbox One is replaced and it is a blessing for the Xbox Series owners now. This replacement was much needed and must request one. The game was originally released in the year 2016 with a cap of 30 fps. But, after some time PS4 patch was removed its nd upgraded it up to 60 fps. However, at that time the upgrade was not acceptable as it needed a high level of performance on Sony’s enhanced machine.
As a result, the compatibility horsepower locked the game to 1080p60 in PS5. Among all the upcoming gaming devices, the Xbox version was just left behind without any upgrade. A performance limit of 900p30 was fixed for Xbox consoles since the game’s release. Finally, the FPS Boost upgrade will give the Xbox Series players a smooth experience without any glitches or shuttering while playing Dark Souls 3.
Changes after the FPS upgrade
Dark Souls 3 is far better than before performance-wise on both Xbox Series X/S. In 60 fps, the fire-spewing dragon living on the High Walls of Lothric is delivered smoothly. However, there is one small issue too which is caused during an early flight with a mutating creature. Due to this fight, the FPS drops to 53. Besides this both the Xbox Series run at the same 900p resolution.
Although the upgrade has done a magnificent job for the Xbox consoles, it is not enough to fix all the issues in Dark Souls 3. Talking about its benefits, due to faster SSD media playing on Series X and S is better with faster loading times. Previously, traveling from the initial Firelink Shrine to the High Walls of Lothric took 12.3 seconds on Xbox X. But, at 60 fps, it takes just 6.7 seconds which is half the previous time.
We hope to see more such upgrades along with some fixes in Dark Souls 3 on Xbox Series X/S.
