Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt, the first World of Darkness battle royale, just completed its closed alpha testing. Available now on Steam as an Early Access title, it will not work with low-power PCs or Macs.
According to an update on the Bloodhunt website, the game will require significantly more power from your computer than other free-to-play battle royales. Exposure to this increased demand can impact your hardware performance and lead to a decrease in system quality.
New System Requirement
The new requirements suggest the game needs Windows 10 64-bit minimum. Along with 16 GB of RAM and 20 GB of space on an SSD, that’s right, you need an SSD, not an HDD.
For those who have just updated their system requirements, it may seem like the new figures are much harsher. Previously a GTX 970 or RX 590 was suggested as minimum requirements, but now either a GTX 1070 or RX 5600 XT is needed. The CPU requirement for the game is still Intel i5-8600 and AMD Ryzen 1600X at their respective clock speeds.
The closed alpha had a number of issues, but hopefully, it will be smoother by the time the game goes live. The code is still in pre-alpha and there may not have been time for optimizations. The game may run smoother and more optimized at launch due to the optimizations contained in this version of the code.
Here are the new system requirements for the game
Processor: i5-8600 / Ryzen 1600X or better
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics: GTX 1070 / RX 5600 XT or better
DirectX: Version 11
Processor: Intel i7-8700K / AMD Ryzen 5 3600X or better
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics: RTX 2060 Super / RX 5700 XT or better
Whichever system requirement you chose you will still need an SSD. The release date for the game is not yet announced but you can still add the game to your wish list on steam.
