The sea is full of adventure and treasure, but you may find yourself feeling a little lost at times. One way to get your bearings back is by finding the easy stronghold chest on the Sea of Thieves map! This guide will help you locate it so that you can spend less time exploring and more time getting rich in some old-fashioned pirate booty.
Where Can You Find Them?
There are many types of stronghold chests in Sea of Thieves. Stronghold chests can often be found inside defeated Skeleton Fort and Vault, but they can also be found inside the defeated skeleton ship or Kraken tentacle as well; potentially rewarded for defeating a megalodon. Treasure chests are locked with locks that can only be opened by a skeleton key, which can be found on every outpost. Stronghold chests are special loot containers found while scavenging the high seas.
Sea of Thieves Stronghold Chests can be acquired through a variety of methods, but they primarily are found in Encounters on the Seas with different types of pirates. Gold Hoarders pay less than their value for these chests.
The first step is to find the treasure map in a chest on an island. You need to sail your ship around until you see a plume of smoke and then use that as a landmark for where it might be. It should only take one or two tries before you find the right place! Once there, look at the map.
One more thing- don’t forget about all those other chests scattered across different islands in Sea of Thieves either; they’re worth checking out too! Be sure not to overlook them because they might have some great loot. Don’t just get stuck on one thing there are many things to explore many treasures to loot, so just keep exploring.
