Deerclops are a large, bipedal creatures that spawn in the wilderness. They will attack any player they see and have an enormous amount of health. Deerclops can be killed with a pickaxe or explosives like dynamite however, this is very difficult due to their high health and hitbox.
The Deerclops is a Boss Monster that only appears in Winter. It has a high amount of health and damage, making it dangerous if it enters the player’s camp. If it entered your camp, it would most likely attack all of your structures if not aggroed by a player.
Deerclops spawn only in the Winter and can appear in any area of Don’t Starve Together that is not covered by snow. They are attracted to buildings and structures, so it’s best to keep your distance from your base when the Deerclops is about to spawn. they will attack players without warning when aggroed or went in their aggroed distance. It drops Deerclops Eyeball and eight meat when killed, which can be cooked on a Campfire to create Cooked Meat (which heals more health than raw meat). There are also other recipes that you can use that meat on.
Tips on Defeating the Deerclops
If you want to hunt deerclops alone, you should wait until night falls because it spawns during the night and attacks from a distance with explosives or traps. But be sure not to use too many explosives and kill it because if you kill it with explosives you won’t get the boss drop from him. You can also go mano a mano with him while reading his attack pattern and hitting him 2 to 3 times with your melee weapon. You can even hit him 4 times if you are on the road and are used to his attack patterns. It may also be wise to use armor to reduces damage taken while fighting with him.
