Learning About the Monster
When you start the game the monster that you face are easy defeat without even knowing about them. But later in the game monster will give you hard time so it’s better to learn about the monster before the hunt. To do so you need to do some research about the monster that you are about to hunt.
When on your research you will collect the footprints, scales of the monster, carcasses, etc. Research helps you to know a lot about the monster that you are hunting like
- Weak spots of the monster that you can inflict more damage to.
- What are the elements that will do more damage to a certain type of monster.
- What is the best weapon type to go for the specific monster.
- The drops that you can get by hitting the specific body part.
Get well Equipped and Buffed
Before the hunt manage your armor and weapon that will be helpful on the hunt. Equip the weapon that is suitable for the hunt and armor that will buff the weapon. There are also some traps and bombs that are helpful on hunts so bring some with you.
The Palico/ the pet can also have some armor that will help you in your hunt. The armor for the palico gives them some abilities to help you with the monster. Palico always comes with you in your hunt unless you are in a party of three or more. Also always remember to eat at a canteen or on the campsite before the hunt. It gives you a temporary boost on your stats for the duration or unless you die.
When on The Hunting Ground
When you on the hunting ground learn about the surroundings. You can find many useful things that will help you in your fight like
- Traps that can be found in the surroundings
- Flash bugs that can help you to flash the monster
