As we know that stardew valley didn’t have any ostrich before in the game. After the 1.5 update now we can see some ostrich in stardew valley. Although ostrich are an end-game thing that we cant get early on. To get an ostrich first we need to get to Ginger Island, and to get there you will have to complete the community center/ the Jojo Mart ending. Even after you have reached the island you won’t get the ostrich. For that, you will have to complete some challenges/quests. Let’s learn about that briefly
How to get Ostrich Incubator?
As mentioned before ostriches will be available only after you have reached Ginger island. On the island, you will have to save an NPC named Professor Snail. Professor Snail then goes to the Island Field Office where he lives. He collects items for the players and rewards them. The reward for completing the event /quest is an Ostrich incubator. That how you will get the Ostrich incubator recipe.
After you have the incubator recipe you will have to build it. And the cost for that is 50 bone fragments, 50 hardwood, and 20 cindershard. This might be a bit confusing but the incubator for ostrich goes in the Barn, not in the coop.
About Ostrich Egg and How to Get it?
First, let’s talk about how to get these eggs. Like any other eggs, Ostrich eggs cannot be bought from anywhere. There are three ways that we know of to get these eggs.
- We can dig up the treasure shown on the Journal Scrap 10. The reward for that is an Ostrich egg and a Golden walnut.
- You can also find Ostrich egg on a random Chest in the Volcano Dungeon.
- This one is not important, we all know ostrich will lay eggs and we can get those eggs from them.
An important fact about ostrich eggs is that when you put these eggs to produce mayo, they produce 10 mayo instead of one.
